 Jubilation as Bosun Oladele Clinches House of Reps Ticket for Irepo / Oorelope / Olorunsogo Federal Constituency

All is set for the official announcement of Hon. Bosun George Oladele as winner of the All Progressives Congress primary for the Irepo, Oorelope, and Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, as supporters celebrate what they describe as a landslide victory.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday, 16th May 2026, Oladele described the exercise as free, fair, credible, and hitch-free across all three local governments. He said the process reflected the will of the people and expressed confidence in securing an unprecedented victory.

“In Oorelope it’s about 99 percent, in Irepo about 70 percent, while Olorunsogo also recorded 72 percent,” he stated.

Oladele acknowledged that a few dissenting voices are normal in any democracy, but stressed that the outcome reflects the will of the majority. He called for unity and reconciliation within the party, saying, “Nobody can clap with one hand.”

According to him, the APC’s adoption of a direct primary was meant to ensure inclusivity and accountability. “It is a joint ticket for all aspirants and the people of all the local governments, because the party must win from the State House of Assembly to the House of Representatives, governorship, Senate, and presidency,” he said. “With this, our members can smile and achieve together.”

Looking ahead, Oladele pledged to deepen federal presence in the constituency if elected. His priorities include securing federal higher institutions, constructing roads linking Igbeti, Igboho, and Ilorin, improving healthcare delivery, expanding infrastructure, and scaling up empowerment and youth engagement programs.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he called “laudable projects,” citing coastal roads and other major infrastructure achievements as evidence of impactful governance.

Calm and confident, Oladele said the overwhelming grassroots support had left him assured. “When you go to the field and see how the people want you, and you see their overwhelming support, definitely you will be happy,” he said. “Glory be to God and thanks to the people.”

While addressing the elated party members, the Chairman of the APC in Olorunsogo Local Government, Alhaji Sikiru Ibrahim, said the results would be released through the media. He urged all party members to remain law-abiding and loyal to the party.
