Dr Alabi Still in the race, urges massive turnout

Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen, a frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressiv es Congress (APC), on Thursday embarked on a sensitisation tour of APC members and stalwarts across Kwara South, urging party faithful to turnout en-masse,  remain calm, peaceful and hopeful ahead of the party primaries.

Speaking with supporters and stakeholders in Omu-Aran, Oke-Onigbin and Igbaja, Dr. Alabi described the Kwara South agenda as very important, stressing that a greater Kwara is achievable through unity and collective commitment.

He urged party members to remain loyal and steadfast to the APC, particularly in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term aspiration.

The aspirant noted that the party leaders in the state are still consultating among party stakeholders.

Dr. Alabi said he remained fully prepared for the governorship primary but appealed for transparency, consistency and fairness in the process.

According to him, his respect for party supremacy and loyalty to party leadership should never be interpreted as withdrawal from the race.

“While we are ready to abide by the directive of the party to participate in the primary, we strongly appeal for a transparent process for all aspirants. We are for the unity of the party,” he said.

He also warned against violence and anti-party activities, urging APC members to stand firmly behind President Tinubu  to prevent the opposition from exploiting any division within the party.

Alabi disclosed that he had also engaged with other Aspirants on the need to ensure a peaceful, transparent and credible primary election process in the state.

“I want to appeal to every APC member in every Ward in Kwara State to remain calm and law-abiding throughout the primary process and after, regardless of the outcome."

“Kwara South will definitely not lose out at the end of the exercise if we continue to work in unity and harmony,” he added.
