The inevitability of death and the need for righteous living took centre stage in Ilorin as the National Association of League of Veterans Journalists (NALVEJ), Kwara State chapter, organised a special prayer session in honour of three of its deceased members.
The prayer gathering featured spiritual admonitions from Reverend Felix Ajide, Dr. Husain Musa Arikewusola, and Imam Faruq Busaeri Elega, who urged Nigerians to live purposeful lives and remain mindful of the transient nature of life.
Speaking at the event, Rev. Ajide reminded participants that death remains the final destination for all mankind, stressing the importance of righteousness fear of God and serving as positive role models in society.
He quoted from Hebrews 9:27 which says “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"
Similarly, Dr. Husain Musa Arikewusola, Deputy Director of Academics at the Centre for Open and Distance Learning, University of Ilorin, and National Missioner of the Shaykh Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, described death as one of life’s most difficult realities.
