Alabi Reaffirms 2027 Guber  Ambition, Rejects Claims Targeting Kwara South

A frontline governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen, has dismissed alleged attempts to undermine the chances of Kwara South in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship race ahead of the 2027 elections, insisting that he remains fully committed to the contest.

Speaking on Sunday, Dr. Alabi said he would not be discouraged by what he described as “false permutations” allegedly being promoted by some desperate aspirants ahead of the party’s primary election.

According to him, his ambition is driven by a genuine desire to provide purposeful leadership for the state and consolidate the electoral strength of the APC across the three senatorial districts.

“I am not in this race to merely participate or make up the numbers,” he stated.

“I am in the race to win. Kwara South has the capacity, political structure, and competent individuals required to produce a governor who can unite the state and strengthen the APC.”

The governorship hopeful also highlighted aspects of his policy direction, particularly programmes aimed at empowering youths and women, improving economic opportunities, and promoting inclusive governance.

Dr. Alabi expressed appreciation to the people of Igbaja District and Ifelodun Local Government Area for their continued support and encouragement, describing their backing as a major source of motivation.

“Giving me a strong home base is encouraging and morale-boosting,” he said.

“It clearly demonstrates that the people believe in this vision and are ready to work collectively towards achieving it.”

While maintaining confidence in his aspiration, the APC chieftain stressed that the contest should not be approached as a do-or-die affair, adding, however, that he would pursue his ambition with determination and focus.

“This contest is not a do-or-die affair, but I will pursue this objective to its logical conclusion,” he added.

Political observers believe that Kwara South’s performance in recent electoral contests has further strengthened the district’s relevance in ongoing conversations surrounding the 2027 governorship race.

Dr. Alabi’s declaration is coming amid increasing political activities within the APC, as aspirants continue consultations and strategic engagements ahead of the party’s primary election.

Although the party is yet to officially announce the mode of primary to be adopted, discussions are reportedly ongoing over possible direct or consensus arrangements.

With the race gradually taking shape, analysts say the contest remains open, while Dr. Alabi’s latest remarks underscore his determination to sustain Kwara South’s push for the governorship position.
