TRIBUTE TO ALHAJI NURAIN YEMI ZUBAIR

TRIBUTE TO ALHAJI NURAIN YEMI ZUBAIR

_A Leader, Broadcaster, and Mentor Par Excellence_

_Departed: Saturday, 18th April 2026_

With a heavy heart and deep reverence, I pay tribute to a dependable and reliable colleague broadcaster, a leader in his own right, and a passionate mentor to countless broadcasters across Kwara State and Nigeria – *Alhaji Nurain Yemi Zubair*.

Alhaji Zubair answered the final call on Saturday, 18th April 2026, departing this sinful world after a life devoted to the microphone, to mentorship, and to the service of truth through broadcasting.

Until his demise, he served as Station Coordinator of a private radio station in Ijagbo, Oyun Local Government, Kwara State. He earlier served meritoriously at the *Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Kwara*, where he retired as Manager, Programmes. He was also the *pioneer General Manager of Albarka FM, Ganmo, Ifelodun LGA*, building the station from foundation and nurturing talents who today hold the airwaves.

To me personally, Alhaji Zubair was a close and reliable ally during my stewardship as General Manager and Chief Executive of Radio Kwara. His counsel was sound, his loyalty unshaken, his support total. He understood radio not just as sound, but as service. Not just as talk, but as trust.

He meant different things to different people across ages, ethnicity and languages – a boss to some, a brother to others, a teacher to many, a friend to all.

He is survived by his *aged mother, his wife, Hajia Serifat Motunrayo Zubair – a Director in the Kwara State Civil Service – as well as children* who will carry his name with honour.

It is my prayer that Allah shall expand his grave, illuminate it with light, and grant him *Al-Jannah Firdaus*. May Allah also grant his aged mother, wife, children, relations, and the entire broadcast industry the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

_“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un”_ [Qur’an 2:156] – _From Allah we came, and to Him we shall return._

_Alahuma Ighfir Lahu Warhamhu!_

The microphone is silent, but your voice echoes on. I will miss him dearly.
