Omo Ibile Igbomina Calls For Calm In Ganmo
The National Executive Council (NEC) of Omo Ibile Igbomina has called on its members to remain calm and law-abiding following the unfortunate elevation of the Mogaji of Ganmo in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary
Barrister. 'Bisi Adedayo
the National President of the organization, Sir Bisi Fakayode, in a statement issued and signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the socio-cultural group, assured that the situation is being closely monitored for further necessary action.
In his words:
"We received the unfortunate news of the elevation of the Mogaji of Ganmo by the State Government with a high level of disappointment. This is because the elevation was made less than two days after Omo Ibile Igbomina convened and issued a press statement to alert the relevant stakeholders.
"It, therefore, beats our imagination that while we are expecting the State Government to toe the path of the rule of law, constitutionality, and legality by issuing the Letter of Appointment and presentation of the Staff of Office to the Oluganna of Ganmo, the elevation of the Mogaji of Ganmo to a third-class status was announced.
"However, we remain optimistic that the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led government will do the needful as far as the Stool of Oluganna is concerned."
The National President further called for calm, noting that the issue is being addressed through appropriate channels.
It would be recalled that Omo Ibile Igbomina, the umbrella body of all Igbomina at home and in the diaspora, resolved at an emergency meeting held the previous Tuesday to draw the attention of the State Government to the Supreme Court judgment on the Stool of Oluganna and the need for its implementation without further delay
