The federal capital  Abuja was agog today as frontline Kwara gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen, popularly known as AOT, officially obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the 2027 governorship election under the All Progressives Congress. The official purchase , held at Ladi Kwali Conference center Abuja drew a massive crowd of friends, well-wishers, political associates, and party faithful who turned the event into a carnival of solidarity and confidence.


Addressing supporters after picking the forms, Dr. Alabi invoked a Japanese proverb, stating, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” He described the move as the first decisive step toward Government House, Ilorin, expressing strong faith that “by God’s grace, the journey will be a smooth and easy ride.”


 Visibly elated, the   entrepreneur and philanthropist thanked his teeming supporters for their unwavering loyalty and urged them to remain steadfast as the campaign begins in earnest.


A staunch loyalist of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dr. Alabi reaffirmed his full support for the President’s re-election bid and lauded the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He also paid glowing tribute to the incumbent Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, pledging to consolidate and build on the governor’s legacies in infrastructure, education, health, and youth empowerment. “Continuity of good governance is non-negotiable,” AOT declared.


Described by allies as a bridge-builder and grassroots mobilizer, Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen brings a unique blend of scholarship and enterprise to the race. A community leader , accomplished entrepreneur, renowned philanthropist, and APC chieftain, he has long championed community development across Kwara’s 16 local government areas. Party stakeholders say his entry injects fresh energy and broad-based appeal into the APC’s succession plan ahead of 2027.


With nomination forms now secured, political analysts say  a vision for Greater Kwara  has shifted from speculation to reality, setting the stage for a robust contest. As the drumbeats of 2027 grow louder.
