 AOT Officially Enters Kwara Governorship Race, Pledges Continuity of Good Governance

The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, came alive on Wednesday as frontline Kwara State governorship aspirant, Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen (AOT), officially obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the 2027 governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).


The exercise, held at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre in Abuja, attracted a large gathering of supporters, political associates, party faithful, and well-wishers who turned the occasion into a celebration marked by excitement, solidarity, and optimism.


Speaking shortly after receiving the forms, Dr. Alabi described the moment as a significant milestone in his political journey and expressed confidence in the task ahead.


Quoting a popular proverb, he said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” adding that the formal purchase of the forms represented a decisive move toward the Kwara State Government House in Ilorin.


“By the grace of God, this journey will be smooth and successful,” he stated.


The renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, who was visibly elated by the turnout of supporters, expressed appreciation for their unwavering loyalty and encouragement.


He urged them to remain committed and united as the political process gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.


Dr. Alabi, a staunch loyalist of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirmed his support for the President’s re-election bid and commended the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and development.


He also paid glowing tribute to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what he described as transformative leadership and impactful governance across the state. 


According to him, his aspiration is anchored on sustaining and expanding the gains already recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic development.


“Continuity of good governance is non-negotiable,” AOT declared.

Widely regarded by supporters as a bridge-builder, grassroots mobiliser, and community development advocate, Dr. Alabi brings years of experience in business, philanthropy, and public engagement into the race. 


Over the years, he has remained actively involved in initiatives aimed at empowering communities and supporting developmental causes across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State.

Party stakeholders and political observers believe his entry into the contest has injected fresh momentum into the APC’s succession conversation ahead of 2027, with many describing his aspiration as one driven by vision, inclusiveness, and grassroots appeal.


With the successful acquisition of the nomination forms, analysts say the race for the Kwara State Government House has entered a new phase, setting the stage for what promises to be an engaging and closely watched political contest in the state.
