Over 400 Benefit from Opeyemi Mega Eye Centre's Free Eye Screening as Program Continues Today

Opeyemi Mega Eye Centre is hosting a free eye screening and surgery program that commenced yesterday and continues today, March 8, 2026, at No. 48 Sabo Line, Isale Amilengbe Area, Ilorin, between 9 am and 1 pm. This initiative is in loving memory of Alhaji Ibrahim Àlàzí Taoheed and Alhaja Maimunah Ayinke Taoheed.
Over 400 people attended the screening on the first day, with 60 individuals scheduled for surgery. The program has attracted beneficiaries from various locations, including Alhaji Isiaka Idiagbon, 65, from Ilorin, Mrs. Gbonjubola Aduke Ogunnimo, 85, from Ijeda, Osun State, Alhaja Abdulquadri Saadat from Ojagbooro Ilorin, and Mrs. Adebayo Mariam from Ote, Kwara state.
These individuals expressed their gratitude, praising Dr. Taoheed Ayodeji Abdullahi's philanthropic efforts and the quality of service received. The program aims to address common eye issues like cataracts and glaucoma. Dr. Abdullahi emphasized the importance of seeking professional help, warning against self-medication.
This effort is part of Glaucoma Sensitization and Awareness Week and is financed by Dr. Abdullahi, his siblings, and family, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community. Opeyemi Mega Eye Centre offers comprehensive eye care services, including glaucoma screening, cataract removal surgery, and vision therapy, utilizing state-of-the-art technology for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
Since its inception six years ago, this initiative has benefited over 10,000 people. The centre's commitment to community outreach is commendable, and the program is open to all, regardless of faith or location. The success of this program is a testament to Dr. Abdullahi's dedication to improving eye health in the community. The program continues today, Sunday, March 8, 2026.
