In the realm of Nigerian politics, there are those who serve with distinction, leaving an indelible mark on their communities. Hon Bosun Oladele is one such individual, a seasoned lawyer, politician, and former lawmaker from Oyo State. With a storied career spanning multiple roles, including former Commissioner for Information, former Legal Adviser to AD Oyo State, and National Secretary of SWAGA, Hon Oladele is poised to return to the House of Representatives, driven by a desire to do more.
As he often says, "Rome was not built in a day," emphasizing the importance of hard work, loyalty, good character, and patience. His own journey is a testament to these values, having navigated the complexities of politics while maintaining a strong sense of purpose.
Hon Oladele's commitment to his constituency is unwavering. He has consistently demonstrated this through various initiatives, including providing ₦50,000 to trained farmers, distributing transformers, and building a skill acquisition center. His focus on education and healthcare is evident in his efforts to establish a higher institution and general hospital in his constituency.
"When there's a will, there's a way," he says, reflecting on his achievements. During his tenure, he facilitated jobs for 28 military recruits, 32 police officers, and one level 8 officer in the railway and air force, among others. He also ensured that the ₦30 million constituency allowance was spent on projects for the people.
Hon Oladele's experience as a first-term lawmaker was not without challenges. He admits to struggling with managing pressure from his constituents and being unable to head or deputize any committee chairman. However, he used these experiences as opportunities for growth and learning.
As a strong supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon Oladele believes in the president's vision for Nigeria. "The security challenge has been there since the time of Obasanjo, but very soon, it will become a thing of the past," he asserts, echoing the president's commitment to addressing national issues.
Hon Oladele praises the president's efforts, citing initiatives such as the student loan scheme (NELFUND), tax reform, and infrastructure development. He believes that these efforts will yield positive results and improve the lives of Nigerians.
The former lawmaker is also a strong advocate for unity within the APC. He notes that more governors are joining the party, and defectors are returning because they see the president's performance. "The president is the party, and the party is the president," he says, emphasizing the importance of cohesion.
Hon Oladele's advice to young Nigerians is poignant: "No place like home, so stop Japa and tap into Nigeria's potentials." He urges the youth to be patient, work hard, and contribute to the nation's growth.
As he prepares to return to politics, Hon Oladele remains committed to serving his constituency and Nigeria. "What is permanent is change," he says, emphasizing the need for adaptability and progress. With his experience, dedication, and vision, he is poised to make a significant impact in the House of Representatives.
Hon Oladele's story is one of perseverance and dedication. He has faced challenges and overcome them, always keeping his focus on serving his people. As he seeks another term, he is confident that his constituents will recognize his efforts and return him to office.
In the words of Nelson Mandela, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Hon Bosun Oladele's journey is a testament to this philosophy, and his determination to serve is an inspiration to many.
