In a stirring display of leadership, Honourable Bisi Fakayode, President of Omo Ibile Igbomina Worldwide, has set the stage for a new era of prosperity in Igbomina land. Immediately upon assuming office, Fakayode quit partisan politics to focus on the rapid development of Igbomina land. "My mission is clear: to rescue, revitalize, and rebuild Igbomina," Fakayode affirmed, seeking divine guidance through Christian and Islamic prayers.
Thirty days into office, Fakayode has hit the ground running, inaugurating strategic committees, securing donations, and charting a course for Igbomina's revival. He has consulted widely with kings, elders, women, students, and youth, demonstrating his willingness to engage with all stakeholders. His outreach extends to Igbomina kings and people in Osun State, showcasing his determination to further cement the relationship in the region.
Fakayode's roadmap is clear: Rescue, Revitalize, and Rebuild. With due consultations he has chosen a team of illustrious sons and daughters, including Chief Kunle Oyinloye, Prof Muritala Awodun and Dr Kamoru Yusuf (KAM WIRE), to drive economic growth, industrialization, and social development. "We are highly blessed by God, with human and natural resources," Fakayode emphasized. "God is with us; APC, PDP, ADC government, and government house – their image makers are Igbominas."
He has formed several committees to drive the development of Igbomina land. The Strategic Committee, tasked with overseeing the overall development plan, includes notable members such as Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, who donated a brand-new bus worth ₦35 million, Prof Muritala Awodun, and Chief Gbenga Olawepo-Hasheem, who contributed funds for facilities. Other members include Prof Wale Sulaiman, who donated solar power, Mr Kayode Isola, who provided laptops, and the 3 Chairmen of local governments in Igbomina land, who offered staff for security and cleaning.
The Economic and Industrialization Committee, chaired by Chief Kunle Oyinloye Eesa of Omu-Aran, includes Dr Kamoru Yusuf, Chairman of KAM Holdings, Chief Lekan Adewoye, Hajia Toyin Olagunji Yeyemeso, and Mr Lateef Amolegbe. This committee is working to establish industries and boost economic growth in Igbomina land.
The Harmonization of Aspirants Committee, led by Chief Sunday Bamigboye (SAN) and Barrister Bisi Adedayo, aims to unite aspirants from various political parties to work towards the common goal of developing Igbomina land.
The Education Committee, chaired by Prof Aremu provost College of Education Oro, includes Joel Afolayan and Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun of TETFUND. This committee is focused on upgrading schools, providing scholarships, and improving educational facilities in Igbomina land.
The Health Committee, headed by Prof Abiodun Balogun, includes Dr Lateef Olaniyan and Dr Tunde Adeola Olaoye. This committee is working to revitalize mobile clinics and improve healthcare services in Igbomina land.
On security, Fakayode has advised the state government, and they are gradually addressing the challenge. "Many of our children are not at home, many are abroad; we must look for them," he urged, highlighting the need for collective action. Agriculture, tourism, and solid minerals are also on the agenda, with Fakayode poised to collaborate with state and federal governments.
The Esie museum and Owu falls, Igbomina's hidden gems, are set to become major tourist attractions, while the region's agricultural prowess is expected to earn foreign exchange. "We will explore our agriculture because it is what we are known for," Fakayode affirmed.
Fakayode's inclusive approach has brought APC, PDP, and ADC stalwarts, united in their quest for Igbomina's progress. "Igbomina interest will be well taken care of," he assured, as the region's sons and daughters rally behind his leadership.
"We will perform wonders before we spend one year in office, based on the support we are getting from kings, leaders, and all sons and daughters of Igbomina land," Fakayode vowed. With unity, determination, and divine guidance, Igbomina is poised to soar.
The Olupo of HiRH, Oba (Barrister) Ismail Yahaya Mohammed Atoloye Alebiosu, Igbomina Ekiti, Chairman of the Council of Obas, has thrown his weight behind Fakayode, as have other traditional leaders. "The best time to plant a tree was yesterday; the next best time is now," Chief Obafemi Awolowo said. Fakayode has planted the seed of progress; soon, Igbomina will radiantly flourish.
