 Kwara Schools Reopen as Security Operations Intensify Against Bandits

The Kwara State Government has announced the reopening of schools across the state, effective Monday, February 2, 2026. This decision follows continuous security operations aimed at neutralizing threats to public safety, including schools.


In a statement, Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, notified school authorities of the reopening, citing improved security conditions. "The situation is now a lot better than it was before. However, we continue to maintain vigilance," the statement read.


Security operations are ongoing to sustain recent gains, with the state government focusing on building community resilience alongside kinetic efforts."
