As Pastor (Dr) Olatunde Oladokun celebrates his 61st birthday, his remarkable journey is an inspiration to many. From selling condensed water to leading a conglomerate, Oladokun's story is a testament to his hard work, determination, and faith.
Born in 1965 to the late Pa Joseph Ayoola Olatunde and the late Deaconess Victoria Modupe Olatunde, Oladokun's early life was marked by challenges. However, he never gave up on his dreams. He pursued his education, earning a National Certificate of Education (NCE) from St. Andrews College of Education, Oyo, and a B.A. (Hons) in History from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.
Oladokun's professional journey began with a brief stint at the Oyo State government under the late Bola Ige's administration. He later worked with Farmers Development Union (FADU) and Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER) as an Assistant Social Mobilisation Officer.
In 2000, Oladokun founded SEAP, a non-governmental organisation and Micro Finance Institution (NGO-MFI). The organisation has grown to become a leading provider of financial services, with over 200 branches in 24 states of Nigeria.
SEAP's mission is to promote sustainable livelihood for the less privileged. The organisation offers credit, savings, and value-added financial products and services. Oladokun's leadership has been instrumental in SEAP's success, with over 545,338 active savers and 168,100 active borrowers.
Oladokun's impact extends beyond the financial sector. He is a devoted pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and has supported various community development projects. He has collaborated with organisations like the Red Cross Society, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), and Nigeria Police.
As a recipient of over 500 local and international awards, Oladokun's achievements are a testament to his dedication and excellence. He has been recognised by the NUJ Correspondents in Kwara, Oyo State, and SWAN Oyo State, among others.
Oladokun has also been conferred with 5 Doctorate Degrees, including one from Thomas Adewumi University, Oko in Kwara State. He is a Justice of Peace with double Ph.D. Honoris Causa from European-American University and UMCA Theological College.
He has empowered thousands of people, providing scholarships and job opportunities to youths. He has been a patron to many associations, inspiring many with his remarkable journey.
Oladokun has also invested in his hometown, Oke Iho in Oyo State, where he established a radio station, SEAP 89.1 FM, and sunk boreholes to provide clean water for the community. He has also established other companies in the area, creating jobs and empowering the local population.
Oladokun's philanthropic efforts extend beyond his hometown. He has supported various community development projects across Nigeria, earning him the recognition of a prophet who is accepted in his hometown.
As Pastor Oladokun celebrates his 61st birthday, he remains committed to his principles. He will continue to support the poor ,assist humanity and serve God
