Late Shaykh Dahiru Usman Bauchi's Markaz branch in Ilorin has produced 82 Quranic Memorizers and 326 reciters, promoting Islamic education in Kwara and South western Nigeria. Shaykh Abdulganiy Abdulsalam disclosed this at the 40 days Fidau prayers in honour of the late Shaykh on January 8, 2026.
The Markaz, established in 1994, combines Quranic and western education, filling a vacuum in education development. With state government and traditional institution support, it has produced professionals in medicine, law, engineering, and more. Graduands have furthered their education locally and abroad.
Shaykh Abdulsalam praised the late Shaykh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and Dr. Muhammed Haruna for their exemplary lives. He described Bauchi as a detribalized Muslim leader devoted to worship and humanity. The school has promoted mutual understanding, eradicated poverty and illiteracy, and achieved its establishment purpose.
Shaykh Tajudeen Arowolo-Sholagberu advised Muslims to fear God, do good, and propagate Islam according to the Quran and hadith. Professor Muhammed Mubarak urged Muslims to invest in humanity through education, ensuring justice and fairness. The event featured a poem on the late Shaykh's life.
The Fidau prayers drew dignitaries, including Kwara's Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Hafiz Abolore, governorship candidate Hon. Akeem Lawal, and traditional title holders. Tijjaniya members and dignitaries from Ilorin, Patigi, Lafiagi, and beyond attended, celebrating the late Shaykh's legacy.
