Ilorin Emirate Has lost Spiritual Giant: Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Soliu OON says Prof Ali Ahmad
Former Speaker Kwara state House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad expresses deep sorrow over the passing of Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Soliu, OON, the 12th Chief Imam of Ilorin, describing it as a loss of a revered religious leader, moral anchor, and custodian of Ilorin Emirate's Islamic heritage.
In a condolence message, Prof. Ahmad extends heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Ilorin Emirate Council, the Council of Ulama, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, the immediate family of the late Chief Imam, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
Sheikh Bashir Solihu's life was marked by faith, service, and disciplined scholarship, producing a leader distinguished by moderation, patience, humility, and sincere devotion to Allah. His over four decades of devoted service as Chief Imam provided calm, steady, and reassuring leadership, fostering unity, deepening religious consciousness, and preserving Ilorin's noble traditions of Islam.
Prof. Ahmad prays that Allah grants Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Solih abundant mercy, forgives his shortcomings, and admits him into Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and grants the bereaved family, the Ulama, and the Ilorin Emirate strength, patience, and comfort to bear the loss .
