GOVERNOR ABDULRAZAQ, EMIR SULU-GAMBARI, DR. SARAKI MOURN DEATH OF ILORIN CHIEF IMAM
Prominent leaders in Kwara State have expressed condolences over the passing of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Solihu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, described the late cleric as a fine Muslim scholar who represented the finest breed in Ilorin's history, saying his passing is shocking, depressing, and saddening.
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, called the demise a colossal loss to Ilorin Emirate, the Muslim Ummah, and humanity, praising the late Imam's wisdom and role in unifying Muslim clerics and promoting inter-religious harmony.
Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, described the late Chief Imam as an institution whose life was defined by scholarship, devotion to Allah, and selfless service, noting his over four decades of leadership made him a spiritual authority beyond Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State.
